HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE PRINCESS!
Gretchen's 2nd birthday was on Valentine's Day. We had a friend of Gretchen's Audrey and her family over for pizza and cupcakes. That morning when we woke her up singing Happy Birthday To You she said,"No mommy, it not my birthday!" After a day of dr visits with shots and pouring down rain, she was ready for some birthday fun! She loved opening the gifts, saying "OOOOOOOOOO, WOW and PRETTY" after each one. We are already getting a glimpse into the terrible twos. She does not hesitate to say "No daddy, shut up to the boys or Away from me!" She will give the meanest look and then the sneaky grin all in 10 seconds. But we love our little princess, even if she is a drama princess.

Just in case you forgot what the wild man looks like! As if you ever could! Posted by Hello
HAVING KIDS IS SOOOOOOOOO MUCH FUN! NO REALLY IT IS!
We all live our lives waiting with baited breath to see what will come out of our kids mouths. This is a sampling from our favorite WILD MAN! You know him, the Parkman. He has been struggling with bad hair since the age of one. Richard tries to convince him and me to just let him wear it spikey. Then no one will notice the giant mohawk he constantly has. Parker does not like his hair spikey, he says it is crazy and gets embarrassed. Which is why he walked into Target with his shirt over his head on Tuesday. We had taken him to the barbershop, thinking that maybe a professional could shed some enlightenment on the subject at hand, or head so to speak. She did a horrible job, and I should have just cut it myself and bought the kid a happy meal with the money instead. So his hair has been nuts!!! Richard cut his on Thursday, and decided HE would take on the challenge of the mohawk. He did a good job, it looked just like my haircuts I give. Well, Parker was obviously pleased. Because when Richard asked if he liked his haircut dad had given him he replied, "YEAH DAD! I LOOK LIKE A ROCK STAR!"

ON YOUR MARK, GET SET, GOOOOOOOOOOO!
This month Dallin had the chance to experience his first pine wood derby with Cub Scouts. He worked on his car with Papa during the christmas break and then did the finishing touches with Dad back in TN. He was so excited about it, and we tried to make sure he was prepared, just in case, his car was not the fastest. The day of the race we weighed it at the post office and found out it was 1 ounce less than the maximum weight allowed, and being the perfectionist family that we are we had to get some weight added. So after school, only hours before the race, mom and Dallin added bullet fishing weights as tail pipes to the back to add some more umph! He raced in the first heat, and got FIRST place. The next two heats he finished second. The car that one happened to be a best buddy of Dallin's so I think that made it better. It is always easier to lose to someone you like. The family had a blast, and we can not wait until next year. Even dad is going to enter one in the sibling and parent race.

For new year'eve we went to First Night in downtown Raleigh with Papa, Grammer, Dare and Ryan. They do a ton of cool stuff in history and science museums down fayetteville street mall to the civic center and BTI center. We made party streamers, bead necklaces, got a henna tatoo, watched a man juggle fire, and some crazy hula hooping all in the first hour. Then Dare and especially Ryan ,being the great aunt and uncle, carried a big dancing man on hinges down several blocks so Dallin and Parker could be in the parade. Even Grammer and Gretchen got in on the fun. We then listened to a band, danced the second hand mission drum line band, stood in a food line for 35 minutes, played twister, watched a chinese lady do yo-yo tricks and balance plates, heard an acoustic guitar player sing and play harmonica, walked through the Raleigh City museum, watched the acorn dropped and saw some fireworks. After all that we were tired, including the kids, so we headed off. It was a really fun event with the family.
