I got kicked out of the dino dig by dad for throwing sand, so I am off to cook. (But I was framed, it wasn't me throwing sand!) Posted by Hello

Archeologists in the making. They were digging and brushing that sand off with such intensity. Posted by Hello

Dallin showing Parker the dino map, who knows why Parker has his ears plugged? Maybe he was scared and forgot to cover his eyes. Posted by Hello

Aye! Aye! Captain! I'll take you on your three hour tour. :) Posted by Hello

EXPLORING THE STATE
We took the kids to Richard's favorite city in TN, Chattanooga. He swears that if we didn't need to be in a central location that we would live there. They have lots of cool stuff down there; the Chattanooga Choo Choo, the aquarium, children's museum, zoo, lots of yummy restaurants, and Cheeburger Cheeburger, home of the 1 lb. burger. It is about 75 mins, Richard drive time. So, one of the things we have wanted to see was the aquarium, however, once we got down there the kids decided to go to the children's discovery museum first. I mean, they are kids, it is there right to be indecisive. In all fairness, we rode by the museum first. We had so much fun. There are so many interactive areas to the museum, and is great for all three ages. They have a huge waterplay area with over pirates ship/playground. They have a music area, dino excavation area, mini house area, art area, gears and gadgets, a giant lightbright (Like 5 X 10 ft.), and traveling exhibit of Arthurs World (which was the whole 2nd level). We spent so much time there we did not make it to the aquarium, and loved it so much that we bought a membership. More fun memories with the kids!

The Next Michael Jordon....
Okay, so maybe not Jordan, how about just a cute kid that loves lay up shots. Dallin played rec league basketball for the first time at the YMCA. He was on the Warriors, a team of 6 to 8 year olds. They finished the season Saturday with a 8 - 3 season. Dallin loved playing, but says he likes baseball the best (which starts Mar 28). We enjoyed watching their practices, where the coach had them run laps around the gym if they missed their free throws. The kids actually liked running, they are young after all. We spent Sat. mornings cheering at the games, with Gretchen the cheerleader clapping after each shot for both teams. Dallin had fun, made some friends, and was a good team player.

Papa & Grammer came to visit for Gretchen's birthday, along with Dare & Ryan. However, Ryan & Richard had to work on Friday, so the kids & I took Papa & Grammer out on the town. The kids wanted to go to a museum, eat at Taco Bell, and go to the Dollar Store. Not to specific are they? We went to the Children's Museum in Oak Ridge (the town with the nuclear weapons storage facility). It is in an old elementary school, and was a lot of fun. They have several different exhibits in the museum, and each one of us had a favorite part. Even Papa enjoyed reading about the history of Oak Ridge, the gov't took some advantages with the workers. Grammer loved the antiques and collectibles in the life in the appalachains. The museum actually took down 4 old cabins/shacks from the mountains and rebuilt them inside the museum, and then filled them with items traditional to the time period. Very cool, even my materialistic, spoiled kids thought they had cool stuff in them. Gretchen loved the kid sized dollhouse, the boys loved the dam and lock systems, and I had fun just hanging out with my family having some fun!
