For new year'eve we went to First Night in downtown Raleigh with Papa, Grammer, Dare and Ryan. They do a ton of cool stuff in history and science museums down fayetteville street mall to the civic center and BTI center. We made party streamers, bead necklaces, got a henna tatoo, watched a man juggle fire, and some crazy hula hooping all in the first hour. Then Dare and especially Ryan ,being the great aunt and uncle, carried a big dancing man on hinges down several blocks so Dallin and Parker could be in the parade. Even Grammer and Gretchen got in on the fun. We then listened to a band, danced the second hand mission drum line band, stood in a food line for 35 minutes, played twister, watched a chinese lady do yo-yo tricks and balance plates, heard an acoustic guitar player sing and play harmonica, walked through the Raleigh City museum,watched the acorn dropped and saw some fireworks. After all that we were tired, including the kids, so we headed off. It was a really fun event with the family.
