It was time for a little R & R...
Since our weeks have been crammed full from Mondays at 6am to Fridays at 10pm, we needed a little rest and relaxation. For Richard that usually means washing cars, for the kids it means Dollywood or some other fun outing where we end up more tired than before, for me anything that does not require cooking or cleaning or 3 year olds is great. So we were thrilled when our friends, Brett and Jenny, needed someone to watch their daughter Maya while they picked up their new canoe. Richard was the man for the job, so he watched her sleep, and managed cook up plans for a lakeside picnic and canoe trip for Saturday afternoon with a couple other family friends too. We all headed out to Melton Hill Lake for a picnic and paddling around the lake. It was definately a much needed break, and very relaxing. We chowed down on hot dogs, chicken salad and watermelon while the kids played in the water, and took turns canoeing. It almost made me want a canoe myself. No gas needed, no dangerous driving, ...sounds pretty good.

Now, THAT looked adventurous! I can't believe that baby Maya just sat there! A picture of our little family would look at little something like this: A canoe upside down and two frantic parents swimming to retrieve their two 20 month olds from the lake.
As a matter of fact, we've had a similar picture like that in the past, only without the kids. You'll have to ask Ryan about that story!!!
