On our same trip to Lookout Mountain and Ruby Falls, we took the kids down to the riverfront. They have two cool water play areas. One is a huge set of stairs, easily 150 stairs and 8 foot platforms in between, that is a waterfall. It pools up at the bottom of the stairs about 2 feet, and I guess gets pumped back to the top. The other area starts out with a little river leading to a rock pool, with rock stepping stones that then turns into a waterfall down a set of rocks into another pool. The kids had a blast. Richard & I were not sure where they got the water from. It was sort of clear, but sort of brown. We figured it either came from the aqarium next door, or the Chattahoochee River. Either way, we probably told the kids 50 times not to put it in their mouths. You know it is a wonder that they did not get hurt, playing on slippery stairs and stones. OR sick from water that either sharks from the aquarium were in, or water from the river with who knows what in it, or the fact that it was full of kids, which meant full of pee.
