Pretty pink leotard and tutu + darling tap dancing + sweet ballet steps=GRETCHEN
Gretchen had her 2nd kinderdance recital in May. She was so excited to get to dance for Mommy, Daddy, Dallin and Parker. She loves her dance class, and her teacher. Ms. Maria is a real sweetie and great with all those "little" dancers. They did several ballet dances, tap dances, and showed off some movement exercises. Gretchen did a clown roll, which she laughed the whole time. So, when you see her ask her to clown roll for you. She did two funny things that night. First was yawning during the recital about 5 times. The poor girl was so tired from all of our end of year festivities and the recital did not start until 7pm, plus she had preschool, graduation practice, dance rehearsal, all that day, and it was about 90 degrees. I don't blame her, I was yawning too! The second thing happened at the end of the recital. Last year we got her a bouquet of sweetheart roses, and she did not seem all that excited about them. So, this year we did not get her any flowers. BIG MISTAKE! Evidently, she was holding in her enthusiasm last year because when it was over and she took her bow, there were big huge tears that followed. I know we are BAD BAD parents. So, we told her we would stop and get her some on the way home. Well, her recital was the day after Mother's Day, so you know what happened when we stopped to get flowers. THEY WERE SOLD OUT! Some smart thinking
led me to an African violet in a pink pot. She was just as happy, and now has them in her room. Lesson for Mom: Once you start something don't stop it or chaos follows.
